Every year my buddy buys a cheap $15 lawnchair from the local store and has to replace it midway thru the summer from heavy use. I buy more expensive lawnchairs that not only last more than one season, but also tend to be more comfortable. Quit buying cheap lawnchairs.

Our family has an old Kelty tent and a couple of newer Kelty backpacking packs and we have been very happy with their quality. The Kelty Loveseat looks like it might be the next addition to our gear. I like that the back of the Kelty loveseat is slightly reclined. I despise lawnchairs that make you sit straight up. Camping and grilling is meant as a time to lounge around, not to perfect your posture.

I didn’t realize they made rocking lawn chairs like the GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker. The versatility of a lawn chair with the comfort of a rocking chair would be amazing to sit in around the campfire. With my heavyweight though, I think the Alps Mountaineering King Kong chair would be much better for me because it can hold so much more weight.

A regular lawnchair supports my weight in theory, but if a kid wants to sit in my lap or I sit down hard then it adds extra stress to the chairs and weakens them. The King Kong chair would be a great choice for most people, even if you are lightweight.

That Snow Peak Futon Couch is a really nice idea. I would love to take that car camping. It would make it easier to snuggle with my husband around the campfire.

I never “needed” a lawn chair when I was camping until I got older. I’d rather leave my tent at home and sleep outside in a rainstorm with a bear breathing down my neck if I could have my lawn chair with me.

I’ve used the REI Co-op Flexlite chair and was very impressed with it, but I ended up ordering a different one off of Amazon because there is not an REI store near me.
