For $120, the Ziv is a great value, as long as you actually use it. Many people buy stuff and then rarely or never use it and it just sits in the garage collecting clouds of dust. I think if you order the Ziv you should set a goal of cooking dinner with it every day for a week. This will get you in the habit of using it and learn how tasty smoked food is. By using the Ziv on a regular basis, it will provide much better tasting food than most restaurants and cost much less per meal.
]]>Correction, he has 4 Tweets and only 1 follower.
]]>They are from Israel, both Ziv and Starvision web design. Maybe they are too busy fighting ISIS to worry about web design. He’s only got 4 followers on Twitter.
]]>Lmao. It says they have been operating since 1999. I think they are still using the same web page template from 1999 too. On their website, their “customer portfolio” section has a list of customer websites they have developed and each one is truly awful in design. OMG.
]]>It’s less than $120 on Amazon. Check the link to Amazon above for the current price. On the product description, it says: “At Ziv’s Smoker we fully stand behind our product and offer you a no-questions-asked, 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee. If you don’t love our Portable Smoker or if you don’t feel 100% satisfied, we will refund your money. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority.”
I can’t find their warranty information. On their website, if you click on”store policies” it reverts you back to the main page. If you click the “about us” page you will get an internal server error. Not sure why they can create such a cool product but then use a poor error-ridden website to promote it.
They should be rocking some Apache servers instead of the Windows servers. It is not very SEO friendly either. Look at the awful non-friendly URLS they use. It says the website was made by Starvision. When i checked out Starvision it was a generic template with Arabic or something similar text.
Their blog is ridden with grammatical and spelling errors too. I’d definitely glad we only have to deal with Amazon if we want to order a Zivs smoker.
]]>Yeah – nothing really compares to smoked meats. While its true its not the largest, I also find this smoker to be extremely budget-friendly – which means more people get to enjoy this cool product 😀 I haven’t heard of this brand before though – any details on warranty, replacement parts/cost, etc.?
]]>Interesting how this will work with any fuel source. It looks more like a regular portable grill that also provides a lot of extra smokiness for flavor, but is not a “true smoker” that s on par with larger home smokers. It looks much easier to use than my home smoker. I smoke large batches at a time and it takes much longer than 2 years, but the Zivs grill could work great when I just want to cook dinner up and not a large, labor-intensive batch smoking of meat.
I’ve smoked a lot o different foods, but it never crossed my mind to try smoking hard cheeses.
If you have never tried smoking food before, then you are in for a treat. The Ziv’s portable smoker doesn’t have to be used away from home either. Go ahead and set it up in your backyard, throw some food on it, go watch a movie on Netflix, and then your dinner is ready.
